Instructions:
NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Start with a medium clipboard.
- Place Tribal decoupage paper face down, and the clipboard on top, then use a pencil to lightly trace the perimeter.
- Use scissors to cut the clip board shape out.
- Use a 3/4" Flat brush and load with Matte decoupage then brush over the entire top of the clipboard. Quickly dampen paper and place evenly on the clipboard. Add more decoupage and brush the center out to get any air bubbles out and to also protect the paper. Rinse brush.
- Then use a pencil to trace and transfer elephant pattern wherever you want on the clipboard. I chose the bottom right corner.
- Then use a #1 Round brush and load with Snow (Titanium) White to base coat the elephant completely. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.
- Then use #1 Round brush and load with Grey Sky to paint everything on the elephant except for the tusk and nails/ toes. Rinse brush.
- Add scrap paper to put around your elephant to protect the background.
- Use a cosmetic Sponge and load with Neutral Grey to lightly pounce on the word stamp or stamp of your choice.
- Randomly stamp your stamp of choice over the elephant. Wash Stamp. Remove scrap papers.
- Use #1 Round brush and load with Neutral Grey and dry brush random shadows in ears, wherever there is an overlap, and underneath elephant. Repeat step only using a small amount of Lamp (Ebony) Black. Then use #1 Liner brush and load with Zinc to add details and to outline the whole elephant. Rinse brush.
- Use a ruler and pencil to trace a 1 cm border around the perimeter of the clipboard.
- Use #6 Flat brush and load with Neutral Grey to paint the border in. Rinse brush.
- Then use #1 Round brush and load with Lamp (Ebony) Black to add tribal lines around the whole border. Rinse brush.
- Once it is dry, it is ready for your child to take to school and have a unique trendy clipboard!
