Such a fun project! These instructions give some inspiration in finding different ways to make this! I could see looking for the proper sized twigs and using strong super craft glue to cent them into the right angled 'V' shape, and perhaps even decorating them with some yarn wrapped around them. But in a pinch you probably could use the cardboard piece that comes with wire hangers for slacks. I remember using those for crafts as a kid! Fun idea!

I have not thought of homemade instruments since I was a kid.Me and my brother use to make some to keep ourselves intertained but forgot about it until I saw this site. This Golden fairy bells is so cute and so easy to make with things in the yard. And I love that you can hike to spend time together to find the stick. A great idea. What kid would not like to play this instrument.I bet it sounds good too. What else can you use if you can not find the perfect stick?
