This is a wonderful idea and your little one can even help create it with you. For added practice in dexterity, you could add a zipper, or even some ties or ribbon to help teach to tie a bow or knot, or even later on, a braid! Make the felt pieces a bit larger and you could hide a little picture or tiny felt animal glued underneath as a reward for being able to undo he button!
