    This project uses canning lids that are upcycled and painted, but as mentioned below, you probably could use old CDs, but the weight of the canning lids might work better in keeping the lines of buttons from getting too entwined, the look of this is really quite impressive and you could really get creative in how you use color and reflection in putting it together. Fun idea and would look,lovely on a porch or breezeway room.... So clever!

    This looks like a great idea, although there is no link for a tutorial to see how it is made. I was also wondering if you could use an old CD instead of what looks like plastic plates? I think a CD would pick up the sun really nicely in the summer.

    It might just be me, but I didn't find any actual tutorial for this. It's fairly simple and I'm sure I can figure it our, but step by step would be nice to guide the kids. It's a good way to recycle and make something cool, though, and it's bright and cheerful for the patio.
