"A simple way for kids to use natural materials to make art supplies. Paintbrushes can be made from a wide variety of different materials, many of which you probably already have in your yard. We used materials from evergreen trees for bristles. Have you ever made a paint brush out of cypress tree leaves? Or spruce needles? Time to make one or thre, together with your kids. What a great project for teachng kids about what you can make from nature to use for every day things. These homemade brushes can be made from things you can search in woods for and them make them and see what different textures you get from each different tree needles or leaves. This is a super educational project. And most items if not all are free.

I really like this idea! I used to teach crafts to kids years ago and I know they would have loved making and using these.
