Creating Your Puffy Paint
You won't believe how fast and easy this summer craft for kids truly is! Follow our easy steps and watch as your kids create their puffy paint masterpieces.
Instructions:
-
Combine shaving cream, flour, glue, and food coloring in a bowl. If your kids want to experiment with several colors, you'll probably want to use multiple containers to hold their mixtures.
-
Mix your ingredients until well blended. If your mixture is super thick, you can add a very small amount of water to thin your puffy paint.
-
Pour your mixture into squeeze bottles. If you don't have any squeeze bottles handy, you can place your puffy paint into a plastic bag and cut a small hole in one corner, similar to an icing bag. Kids can also use paint brushes for thicker lines, although squeeze bottles help to keep the puffy paint look.
-
Have fun painting! Watch as your kids create all kinds of fantastic designs with their homemade puffy paint. Make sure to let their puffy paint dry thoroughly before displaying their artwork.
-
Tips:
* For a mess-free set-up, lay out newspaper or wax paper underneath your paint station. That way cleanup is a breeze!
*This free kids' craft is great for all ages, but is especially great for pre-k and kindergarten kids and is a fantastic fine motor skill activity.
*Try experimenting with various amounts of glue or shaving cream for tons of different paint textures.
