Clothespin Birds on a Branch
Animal crafts are always a favorite when it comes to entertaining the kids, and these easy animal crafts are sure to delight your little ones. Clothespin Birds on a Branch are super simple to make, and your little ones can create any color of bird they want. Keep these clothespin crafts together to create a fun, 3D work of art, or use your Clothespin Birds to hold on to important memos. You can make tons of these little critters for next to no cost, so feel free to craft a whole zoo.
Materials:
- 3 wooden clothespins
- Paint: blue, free, pink, orange, white, black
- Feathers: red, yellow, orange
- 12-inch wooden dowel
- Paintbrush
- White craft glue
- Toothpick
Instructions:
- Paint the clothespins, one each: blue, pink and green.
- Use the handle end of a paintbrush to dot on white for the eyes. When dry, use a toothpick to dot on the black part of the eyes.
- Use a toothpick dipped in orange pant to add the beaks. Add claws at the bottom of the clothespins with orange as well.
- Glue feathers to the clothespin birds, one small piece on top of the head and two for the wings on each clothespin.
- Let everything dry then attach the birds to your dowel. Optional: You can paint the dowel drown to look like a branch. You can also add string to hang it from the wall or attach with wall putty.
