Way back in the 1950's as students, we made a similar pattern for a lantern but this really takes it an extra step better and way more fun and functional! I love it! I would use some metalic paper or even glue on so,e tiny sequins or glitter to catch some sunny sparkle as it twirls! Good for keeping critters out of the garden too!

This is a really cute and fun project. I love that it doesn't require much that has to be purchased special for the project. I am not sure this is a good preschool project, but school age kids would enjoy making more than one. Adults will have fun making their own.

Making pretty, useful things out of recyclable materials is simply great! This rainbow wind spinner made of empty plastic bottles and duct tape will look pretty as it twirls around with the wind. And, as mentioned in the instructions, the wind spinner will also keep away birds from the vegetable garden!
