Materials List
- Mason Jar Mug
- Duncan® Concepts® Underglazes for Bisque (CN 253 Black)
- Duncan® French Dimensions™ FD 254 Black Licorice (80304)
- Clear Glazes (Duncan® Pure Brilliance® Clear Glaze)
- Potter's sponge
- Container for water
- Foil or foam plate for palette
- Paper towels
- Pencil
- Clear adhesive-backed shelf paper
- Scissors
- Clear plastic wrap
- Ruler
- Small plastic bowl
Instructions

Wipe cup with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.

Pour some Pure Brilliance inside mug and roll around to coat entire inside. Pour any remaining glaze out into a plastic bowl and wipe away any drips with a damp sponge.

Cut out piece of shelf paper that measures 1¾” x 2¾”.

Remove paper backing from shelf paper and adhere to side of mug (refer to photo).

Pour a puddle of Black on palette. Cut piece of clear plastic wrap and crumple. Dip crumpled plastic wrap into the Black and lightly dab all over mug.

Remove shelf paper cutout. Lightly freehand “Composition Book” and use the ruler to create lines under the wording.

Use the No. 1 Liner to brush two coats of Black over lettering, and use Black Licorice French Dimensions to trace over lines and around box as shown. Let dry completely.

Brush three coats of Black onto handle, base and top rim of mug. Let dry completely.

Brush two coats of Pure Brilliance onto the white label of mug and one coat onto remainder of mug. Let dry completely.
