Exotic Fish Craft for Kids
It's fun to take the kids to the aquarium and see all the exotic fish and undersea creatures, but with this Exotic Fish Craft for Kids they can actually make their own! This easy paper craft is a great creativity exercise for the children, and it's made with streamer paper and glitter glue to add a fun and exotic texture to their fish. These would be great to make at an under-the-sea themed birthday party or as a fun craft after getting back from the beach. Before you know it, the children will have made so many fish crafts that their rooms will look more like a fish tank than a bedroom.

Instructions
-
Glue the printout of the fish onto the cardstock. Make sure that you apply glue all over the back of the printout so that the paper will not wrinkle as much when painting the water around the fish. (Note: An adult will need to assist with this step.)
-
Sponge an uneven layer of the powder blue paint all around the fish to add color to the water, and allow to dry. (Note: Do not thin the paint with water.)
-
Use the colored sand to add color to the dots on the body of the fish. Spread thick glue to the first dot and while the glue is still wet, dust the dot with the orange sand. Lightly press down on the sand so that it will stick to the glue and shake off any excess sand. Color the rest of the dots, in the same way, using either green; purple; blue; orange or red sand.
-
Cut small pieces from the orange crepe and glue them to the top and bottom parts of the fish, as well as to the area around its mouth.
-
Use the red felt-tip pen to color the mouth.
-
Use glue and yellow sand to color the area around the eye.
-
Glue the wiggle eye in place.
-
Cut small pieces from the purple-blue crepe paper. Crumple each piece before gluing it to the fish.
-
Use the yellow crayon to color the body of the fish. Highlight some areas with the blue crayon.
-
Use the glitter glue to add detail to the tail. Allow to dry thoroughly before hanging the artwork.
